Answers to Common Questions about our Trees
Do you have pre-cut or shipped-in trees?
Nope. Everything is grown on the farm and still growing in the
ground when you come to pick out a tree. A
fresh-cut tree smells wonderful.
How long will a Christmas tree last in my house?
It depends on the tree and attention you give it. All cut
trees need water. Please keep your tree's water dish full, no extra
plant food is necessary. Five to six weeks is reasonable for a cut
Christmas tree. Excellent needle-retentive choices include Canaan fir,
Eastern White pine, and Scotch pine. Norway and Colorado spruce rate
fair, while a White spruce rates poor, so cut only very close to
Christmas time if that's what you want. Instead, consider Ball and
Burlapped White spruce for wet sites when you plant in the
fall.
How many trees do you have growing on the farm?
We have eighteen acres devoted to
growing various hardwoods, ornamentals, and evergreens. There are
literally thousands of trees growing in all
different stages of life.
Can I plant a Ball and Burlapped tree right now?
We only dig trees when it is the
right time of year to plant, Spring and Fall. The ground needs to be
thawed once Spring hits, and relatively dry in the fall before the snow
flies.
